Is it possible to get the same results doing fly's as you would with cable cross overs? No pully's at home right now.

Also, saw an exercise demo for pecs:

bent over at hips, one arm out to side with DB in hand bend arm in to chest to work pec??? does that sound productive?

Yes, flyes work the pecs the same way cable crossovers do. It's good to vary dumbbell flyes with flat bench and incline. I typically save flyes for more of a high volume day rather than a heavy day because going for lower rep/heavier weights with flyes can be tough on the rotator cuff.

Regarding the other exercise, it sounds as though this could be a reverse fly and therefore would work the rear deltoids and upper-mid back.

My gym doesn't have a peck deck machine. Can you believe that? So, I do flys and cable crossovers. With the cables, if they are adjustable, you have the option of hitting various areas of the chest. A low attachement pulling action will hit the upper chest more and the high attachement pulling action puts more emphasis on the lower chest.
